Porto-Santiago. 2025

Trekking the Camino route from Porto to Santiago. Each day brought its own rhythm: early mornings setting out with a pack, long and sometimes exhausting stretches of road and trail, and evenings welcomed by cathedrals and villages that seemed like hidden gems. The simple yellow arrows guided the way without the need for maps or screens. The day ends in the camaraderie of an albergue, where other pilgrims share their experience, sometimes over dinner and finally resting.

Food became both fuel and celebration along the way. Freshly grilled seafood, ripe fruits, vibrant vegetables, and local cheeses offered simple yet deeply satisfying nourishment. Markets and small family-run kitchens provided a direct connection to the land and the people who cultivated it.
