Exploring Vancouver Island… Days consisted of long hikes through mossy forests, coastal trails and quiet evenings settling by the fire.
We bought freshly caught salmon, wild berries and crisp vegetables, which were deeply satisfying after being active all day. Farmers’ markets and local producers gave a direct connection to the island’s communities. We tried mustard leaves for the first time, a special addition to our home-made sandwiches. Nourishment wasn’t just about eating — it was about discovering a way of life rooted in seasonality, sustainability, and the joy of food shared close to its source.
